For this brief we were asked to create a publication using information from lectures we have received throughout the year as a starting point. As is did my essay on the value of fine art versus the value of graphic design, I wanted to focus on something different so that this publication was more open minded. Because of this i decided to focus this on the differences between modernism and postmodernism and their fundamental rules, as i found this difficult to understand at the beginning of the year and having some sort of simple publication that would explain the differences between the two movements would help a lot to me and other art and design students.
As this would be a comparison of the two, I wanted to keep the publication easy to understand and interactive so that it can educate and inform students on both modernism and postmodernism. I like the idea of creating a kind of puzzle book where you can write in the book notes about two pictures of modernist and postmodernist art and design, and then also explain in my own words what the differences are and some background context about the two images.

I could put smaller pieces of paper in-between pages within the book with all of the information about the images on the pages either side.

I like this layout with the two images in the centre so that they are directly in comparison with each other. This also gives space either side for notes etc.

Contents of the publication.
I'm unsure whether i should include a 'how to use this book' section. And if it was included how would it look and fit in with the theme of the rest of the book?
